Smooth coats grow to a predetermined length that remains short. To help keep this coat healthy, regular baths should be given. It is highly unlikely this coat will become matted, but to keep the skin healthy you should still brush your dog.

This type of coat should never be clipped as it will leave your dog’s skin exposed to the elements.

During a bath, use a curry brush to remove excess hair. Once dry, use various de-shedding tools to remove dry skin and loose hair. A slicker brush will help remove loose hair.
